Swelling, Red, Painful To Touch. Applied Epsom Salt. Any Other Suggestions?

i have a bug bite (dont know what) on my knee from Sunday and though the swelling has gone down some - its now about 3 inches in diameter, there is a red area around it that has increased in size - about 6 inch diameter. It is painful to the touch and to walk. I tried a washcloth soaked in Epsom salt yesterday, along with an alieve. Any other suggestions? At what point should I see my doctor?

Hello,
Thanks for the query.

Bug bites are usually itchy.

Some time they get infected.

You might have developed furuncle.

These are deep bacterial infections.

Treatment is with antibiotics.

Also take an anti histamine tablet.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.
