Swelling In Knee, Resembles Ball, Getting Larger, Unable To Walk Long Duration. What Is Recommended?

I have a ball like swelling below my left knee. It is not discolored. It has been there for several years, but as of late it is getting a little large (about half the size of an orange) It is starting to ache when I walk for long periods of time. I am a woman in normally good health, non smoker / drinker, not overweight
Do I need to see a Knee specialist or a GP? What do you recommend

Hello,

Swelling of long duration below the knee. Of Late the size increases and causes itching, pain and discomfort.
You need to consult an orthopedician.
If may be due to infection or malignant change of a benign tumor.
