Swelling In Fingers, Pain While Bending, Snapping Of Joints, Tender Palm, Bruising Inside Wrist. History Of Heavy Work In Yard. Time To Heal?

After some heavy duty yard work a couple of weeks ago, my fingers got quite swollen and I had to have my wedding band cut off. The ring finger of my left hand is quite painful and hurts to bend. Also the joint snaps when I try to straighten it. I am also experiencing tenderness in the palm of my hand just below this finger. I have bruising on the inside of my wrist ( about 3 inches long by 1 inch wide ) but no pain . Any idea what is going on and how long this will last ?

The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of muscles strain likelyto be due to heavy work in yard.
To get relief from the pain and for quick healing:
1. Do hot fomatation at the site.
2. Apply local anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times a day.
3. Take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and local swelling or inflammation.
4. Do not lift weight or try to do exercise that involve painful muscles. Give proper time for the injury to heal.

If you don't find any relief with the above measures, a detailed clinical examination along with appropriate investigations are needed to establish a diagnosis.
