Swelling And Pain In Ear After Using Q Tip. Do Not Want Medication Due To Pregnancy
I was playing in my right ear with a Q.tip 3 days ago and ever since it s been swollen and painful .. And it s irritating me ,I feel it s kind of blocked with heartbeat sound in it and it has slight yellow discharge when I try to clean it ... Because I am 18 weeks pregnant I thought of leaving it to sure without medications , but it doesn t seem to get any better . Should I worry and is there any safe medication I can use that won t harm my baby .. Thankss

There may be inflammation in your external auditory canal (pain and swelling). The discharge may be due to pus collection or due to ear wax or serum. So better is to consult your doctor for examination.
Since 18 weeks pregnancy you can use topical antibiotic ointment which wont affect the child and regularly clean with betadine solution for 3-4 times a day. This will help you.
