Suggest What Speed To Select On Treadmill And How Much To Walk

I was recently prescribed a bunch of meds due to severe migraine that's been lasting wks. I noticed that none of them seem to be a pain med. I am about an 8/10 pain right now and need to try something but I dont know if any of these new meds will interfere with it. They gave me depakote (due now) reglan (prn), tizanidine (due now), and hydroxyzine(prn). (the prednisone I took this morning)

Hi,

If you have cardiac clearance begin at the lowest speed for a target time of 20 minutes. Do a warm up and cool down of 5 minutes. If all goes well the first week, set your speed to the level that = 60% maximum heart rate.

Calculate: 208-age then multiply that number by 7 and that will be your Target Heart Rate. You may gradually increase target heart rate to 65%-70% over time. Tizanidine is a muscle relaxer. Please exercise prior to taking this as it will hamper muscle toning.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Good Luck!

Regards,
Kathryn Shattler, MS, RDN
