Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
You havn't mentioned whether you are chewing only pan masala or gutkha. But from your addiction history, I assume you are addicted to gutkha.
Tobacco chewing habit is difficult to give up if the habit is of long duration and started since childhood. but in your case you had started it since just 2 years and in adulthood it won't be that difficult to leave.
It will take a firm determination from your side and the mental acceptance of tolerating withdrawals symptoms initially.
If you have firmly made up your mind for giving up, decide a day for starting reduction of quantity. Decide a stress free period and reduce the quantity gradually. You may not be able to stop abruptly but gradual reduction will be possible and easy. Make a plan for the same and adhere to it.
There are tobacco containing chewing gum and skin patches available to help you if you don't succeed. You may also take help of a psychiatrist if you find difficulty in giving up on your own, but I assume that would not happen in your case.
Remember, tobacco chewing is harmful to your breast feeding baby as well. So, take this firm decision in the interest of your child.
Hope this will be helpful.
Do ask if any further question.
All the best.
