YYYY@YYYY From 180mg a day of Verapamil for 12 days... then 3 days cut in half to 90mg a day. 4th day none taken. Can I now stop or should I do more gradually, maybe take the half dose every other day, then every 3rd day etc. Goal is to stop Verapamil because of severe gastro side effects. Am taking Metoprolol such. 25mg/2xday and warfarin 5mg day.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Verapamil is commonly used for heart disease or high blood pressure.

If you are discontinuing one of your chronic medications then it is best that is done along with your doctor.
He or she can make a note of the side effects that you are experiencing and start additional medication if needed.

It is possible to discontinue at this point but your this should be a joint effect between you and your doctor.

I hope this helps
