Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my mom has just now started to get CKD, her creatine is 1.7 to 1.9 and urea is 52 uric acid is 4.6. doctor had advised to take awaytox and nefita tablet. she had undergone CABG in 2009. her age is 54 . nowadays she is taking very less protein intake and she is very concious about her food intake and doing some walking for half an hour . kindly suggest me if there are any chances of reducing her creatine and urea levels .
I am your physician and I know whats Going On In there. Actually CABG after few years goes less efficient in some patients. Reduced cardiac output by weak cardiac muscle(due to low blood supply to heart itself) leads to peripheral organs (e.g kidneys) getting less blood with every pumping of heart. So its decreased cardiac output leading to chronic kidney disease. STAY STICK TO TREATMENT REGIMENS WHICH ARE PRESCRIBED FOR HER. AVOID CONSTIPATION AND AVOID UREA CREATININE AND NITROGENOUS WASTES TO COMPROMISE CONSCIOUSNESS. AVOID PROTEINS IN DIET. WALK AS MUCH AS SHE CAN. THIS WAY YOU CAN LOWER HER LABS TO SOME EXTENT. IT ALL DEPENDS HOW MUCH AND WHICH KIND OF DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE TO KIDNEYS. In some patients with medical intervention Creatinine levels come down and kidney functions get normal to some extent. Consult your physician for any treatment needed. Sometimes we need to go for Renal Dialysis. And it improves patient health to a significant level. ALSO CONSULT CARDIOLOGIST FOR HER WORK UP AND ANY ONGOING DISEASE WHICH MAY BE OVERCOME IF HANDLED IN A TIMELY MANNER Stay blessed and happy. Have a nice time
