Dear friend. ESR or erythrocyte sedimentation rate is a test which measures the rate of fall of red blood cells when they are kept in a plastic/ glass tube. This rate of fall if it is increased is called raised ESR. ESR may be raised due to several reasons such as inflammation, infection etc. From the information you have given I do not know if you have any chronic inflammation . If there is some chronic inflammation or infection treating that reduces the ESR. However ,one must remember that ESR is a non specific test which means that on its own we cannot make a diagnosis with that just that test. As I understand from your question, your main worry is about having your second baby. Birth control pills are usually prescribed by doctors for birth control or for abnormal bleeding or certain hormonal disturbances. I presume that your doctor has done all the tests and therefore you are going in for IUI. Did you have any D& C or endometrial biopsy done on your uterine ( womb) lining ?. The report on that will help me to give you a better answer. Best regards.
