Suggest Ways To Prepone Menstruation

Hello Doctor, I want to prepone my periods by 5 days. I am healthy 29 year old girl and I get my periods regularly. I want to prepone because I am getting married on the same day when my periods are scheduled i.e on 16th November 2016. Hence I want a medicine which is 100% effective + will not have any side effects like acne, etd. Please advise something fullproof. Thank You Best Regards, Snehal

Dear Snehal, Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern.

Postponement of period is more safe as compared to preponement.

If you wish to prepone the period you can't predict withdrawal bleeding within the expected time. It may be delayed or occurs earlier which can mess up your wedding celebrations and it may make the next cycles irregular.

Hence I would advise you to postpone your period.

To postpone your period you need to take one tablet of Norethisterone (5 mg) 2 times a day, beginning 3 days before you expect your period to start i.e., you may start taking the tablet from 13th November on wards.

You should take the tablets at the same time every day, one in the morning & in the evening. Continue it as long as you wish (maximum up to 2 weeks). Then stop the medicine. Withdrawal bleeding will occur within 3-7 days.

Since this is a prescription based medication so you need to take it from your doctor.

Wishing you a happy married life.

Kindly rate the answers if you are convinced.

look there are hormonal pills to postpone or prepone your menstruation..... but the same pill is usually used to treat dysmenorrhoea, irregular menstrual cycle.....may cause some side effects as these are hormonal substances.....you should give a proper history of about your health near a doctor ..consult to your nearby doc before taking these pill as there are some contraindications too for these type of drug...
