Suggest Ways To Manage Pain When Diagnosed With Sarcoidosis

I have a friend that just found out that she has sarcoidosis. She is always hurting and her cheeks turn rosey red when she has her flare ups. She is black. :) She is getting depressed because she doesn t understand what to do to stop the pain. Do you have any suggestions to help her with the pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to consult with doctor because she may need Corticosteroids. These powerful anti-inflammatory drugs are usually the first line treatment for sarcoidosis. In some cases, cortico-steroids can be applied directly to an affected area — via a cream to a skin lesion or drops to the eyes. Medications that suppress the immune system. Also avoid white bread margarine red meat. Use turmeric and fruits vegetables, drink plenty of water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
