Suggest Ways To Manage Hair Loss And Excessive Facial Hair

hello im a 23 year old female living with PCOS.I have all classic symptoms of PCOS. Bulky upper body, hirsutism, hair loss from the scalp region, highly irregular periods, and also darkened skin in places like the neck, armpits etc. i am currently using ayurvedic medicine to manage the conditio,n so far doing good. i have lost some weight, a cycle of around 45 50 days. my question however is regarding the hair(face and body). if i do succesfuly get my hormones back in the levels,my periods become on dot, will my scalp hair grow back?or i have lost them forever? And regarding the facial hair, which is very embarrassing, will they go away?like completely?or is it that no new hair will grow in male patterns. n i have to continue dealing with the existing hair for the rest of life? thanks for your time and information.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern.
pcos is a very common problem affecting people in your group.
and as you have mentioned you do have all the classical symptoms of the polycystic ovarian syndrome.
the main treatment include oral hormonal pills and metformin.
weight reduction and diet control plays an important part. eat a balanced and healthy diet.
once you start taking the hormonal pills and metformin, slowly the facial hair also decreases.
but this usually is not consistent in all the patients.
but this would definitely help.
kindly consult your treating doctor for the same.
hope i answered your concerns.
feel free to ask further queries.
thanks for choosing HCM
