Now I have started Crestor. I do not like statins, I get bladder infections every two months and the body aches are bad. what can i do.

Hi,
Muscle pain or myalgia is one of the common side effects of statins. You need to get your CPK levels measured regularly to make sure that the muscle pain is not progressing to muscle injury.
If you were my patient,I would have recommended to undergo investigations to determine vitamin D levels in blood. Sometimes the muscle aches are due to low vit D levels. In such cases, via D supplementation along with calcium reduces the muscle symptoms.
Statins are unlikely to cause any recurrent bladder infections. Investigations has to be done for such infections including screening for diabetes to rule it out.
You can discuss the above information with your physician. Hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into heathcaremagic. Have a wonderful day.
