A lot of individuals have complaints of gain in weight while on anti epileptic treatment because the therapy runs for long periods of time. You have gained significant weight while on Epilim or Sodium Valproate. As dietary modifications, exercise and jogging etc are not resulting in improvement in such situation you should consult your doctor for change in drug if possible. Some medicines like Topiramate are good anti-seizure drugs (though not first line drugs) and are associated with loss of weight.
