Hi....my mother is a diabetic since last 15 yr...she was on oral hypoglycemic drugs...recently she had some infection 1 week bk ..blood glucose 340....her serum creatinine was 2.4....urine pus cells 12-14..urine protein 3+...blood count 12000 wbc.. BP 190/130....The doctor treated as sepsis with acute renal failure With antibiotics n antihypertensive. ...her creatinine is 1.7 now...bloocounts 8000...she is on insulin mixture 30/70.. 20-0-16...even then her fasting glucose is 230 n post prandial 300.... wht to do now

As the fasting and post prandial values are higher, insulin mixture 30/70 increase morning dose from 20 units to 24 units and night dose from 16 units to 20 units. Please check her blood sugar values after 3 days.
