I understand your concern.
Lactational amenorrhea would be there for few months soon after delivery. If she is breast feeding your 3 month old baby, her mensteual periods might not have resumed.
During this time, she wouldn't be ovulating an hence might not get pregnant.
However, it would be better to undertake urine
pregnancy test to make sure she is not pregnant again. Kindly consult Gynecologist in case the test cines positive for further evaluation and management.
It would be ideal to go for 'Copper T' (IUD) insertion after delivery to protect against pregnancy. After 6 to 8 months when she gets her periods, it would be better to go for birth control pills as she slowly weans of breast feeding.
Presently, it is better to use condoms and spermicidal agents to prevent pregnancy.
