Hello welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
It seems you have adequate control of diabetes at present. Unnecessary attempts to bring it down further will lead to low blood sugar at the age of 73.
My advice to you is -
1.Target for FBS is less than 140.
PP2BS is less than 180.
HBA1c should be less than 7.
HBA1c is 3 monthly average blood sugar report.

2 . There is no need to bring down sugar levels less than 110 otherwise at night time if you have low sugar you won't even know about it, because at old age chances of low blood sugar levels is high.

3.Do regular brisk walking, healthy diet and exercise. Do FBS, PP2BS AND HBA1c report every 3 monthly for adequate sugar control.

4 .Continue same medicines, your doctor has given you adequate medicines.
Thank you.
