Suggest Treatments For Radiating Pain In Back And Abdomen

I lifted my 90 yr. old father off floor - was in shock so the adrenalin kicked in. I felt like I pulled something and now I have radiating heat pain in back and sometimes in ab area and also heart palpatations. Under a lot of stress due to caring for parents. This happened 2 weeks ago and I am still uncomfortable. Any advice.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM!

It seems that you pulled a muscle while lifting your father.

You need complete rest now and a strict NO for lifting any more weights.
You also require a muscle relaxant like Myoril to reduce the spasm.
I'd also advice you painkillers for temporary relief.

Apart from this, good physiotherapy will be very helpful.
It will take few days for you to recover.

Hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you have any doubts.

I'd also like to appreciate you for the care you are taking of your parents. God bless you!

With warm regards,
Dr. Sridhar Reddy
