i have been diagnosed with cordoniform opacity of the lung in the front area of the median third of the dorsal spine. The CT was taken after a severe flu. No symptoms of short breath, blood or lack of energy. Smoked lightly for 20 years, now 20 years since I quit smoking. Age: 66, female

Hello,

It looks like the opacity is in the posterior mediastinum. If that is the case, then you will need an MRI for better characterization of the opacity. It is very hard to tell what that can be unless the image is available for review. Mostly opacities in this area are benign tumors.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parag Chaudhari
