Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, the past year I have been overeating for no apparent reason. It is steadily getting worse. I do not have anything stressful or upsetting going on and the eating doesn t follow incidents that upset me. I m just constantly hunting for food. It s not from boredom although it may be that I m around the food most of the day because I work from home. I am constantly thinking about food and get excited when my husband leaves in the morning so that I am free to eat without having to feel embarrassed. It isn t possible for me to ban all biscuits etc from my house because the kids do need some but I buy new packets every day because I go through them so fast. I had a gastric band a year ago. 2 weeks ago I overate and the band slipped, I now have it loose and I m waiting to see if it will correct itself. I know I need something drastic to change the way I eat and think about myself. I ve tried looking for OA meetings but there are none in my area. Maybe an online forum would help but I couldn t find any.
hi. you need to stop eting this much food since you have a history in diabetes. chew gum, have alot of water, have juices, make smoohties, have yogurt whenever you feel hungry and cant resist it. allow yourself one snack in the evening. it will help you to have a glass of lukewarm water with just a little honey.
