Hi,I have been asked to find out about erosive gout treatment for a friend,he has had bone scan, enhanced scan and last was a synovial fluid extraction from his foot. The area affected is the toe next to the great toe.Blood work shows slight elevation of uric acid but the Drs.don't feel it is high enough to cause this .Has severe pain lasting 2-5 minutes off and on during the day, always sore to walk etc. They thought a bone infection but decided to do the fluid test before treatment as 1 Dr. didn't think it was an infection.Question is...if gout they will treat as usual, but how does he rebuild the eroded bone?
