Suggest Treatment To Alleviate Burning And Itching Of Skin

My doctor has diagnosed scabies and prescribed permethrin. The itching and burning of my skin is driving me crazy. I m taking an antihistamine and applying calamine lotion topically, but can you recommend anything else to alleviate the burning and itching? I can t sleep its that bad. Thank you.

Hello and welcome.

Topical application of permethrin is the best treatment available, but if you wish for more rapid elimination you could also request your doctor for oral ivermectin which is also really helpful.

The itching will only reduce when the mites are eliminated so make sure you use the permethrin religiously as advised by your doctor.

Best wishes.
