Suggest Treatment That Helps Heal The Bruised Tailbone

I was on the trampoline and I butt-bounced into the metal rim which resulted in what I assume to be a bruised tailbone. I was in agony for at least a week, but the pain faded. It s been a month and I attempted to butt-bounce again. The pain was like pain I had felt the day I had bruised my tailbone. The weird thing is, it doesn t hurt when I m seating or doing other activities. What could this mean? How can I help the healing process?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

NOted the history about having butt-bouncing that cause tailbone pain that remained for a week, you tried again and had pain although there is no pain while doing other activities.
This surely means that you have developed inflammation at the tailbone that is coccyx.
I would advise you the following in such a situation.
Consult a General Surgeon for having per-rectal examination to see for the pain, tenderness, mobility and so on to know the clinical finding as to the cause of pain.
X-ray to confirm.
Take laxatives to have soft and smooth motion.
Sitz bath to have soothing effect on the inflamed part.
Take an anti-inflammatory medicines.
No such activities that cause strain on the affected area.
Take rest for at least 3 weeks as this is the time required for healing.
Review after a few weeks with your treating Doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
