Suggest Treatment Other Than Surgery For Dropped Bladder

Hello
My bladder has dropped to the point it is uncomfortable when I sit. I was told today I need to get something done. I am searching for a treatment rather than surgery. I had a heart attack in November and I have not gained by strength. Also my heart rate is low. So you see I don't want to think about surgery. Are there any treatment method that help my condition. 76 years old.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Cystocele, fallen or prolapsed bladder treatment options depend upon the degree of disease progression and severity. Starting from grade 1 that is mild and needs just care and avoiding heavy weight lifting, to grade 4 that is a complete prolapse and needs surgical correction.

Non surgical treatment is also available but it all depends upon the patient choice and comfort or ease with handling the device inside the vagina. It is Pessary, a device that is put inside vagina to keep bladder in place. Estrogen creams are used with it to avoid infection and erosion of vaginal walls.

Another option is estrogen replacement therapy to make the vaginal wall muscles strong enough to support the bladder in place.

Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
