Suggest Treatment Methods For Stage 4 Fibrosis And Stage 2 Stenosis

had hepc c since 1970 s undiagnosed until 4 years ago-no symptoms-took course of Harvoni for 90 days last year-completely cured-now firbroscan shows stage 4 fibrosis and stage 2 stenosis-what options do I have? Non alcoholic or drug use-had multiple blood transfusions in the 1970 as I have a bleeding disorder.

Hi,

It is most likely you got Hepatitis C infection from blood transfusions. Before 1992 blood products were not tested for Hepatitis C infection, therefore people who received transfusions before 1992 is high risk for the infection.

Stage 4 fibrosis is a state called liver cirrhosis. If the liver function is normal you may be prescribed medicines to stop the progression of cirrhosis.

If the cirrhosis progresses you may need an ultimate treatment- liver transplantation.
