Suggest Treatment For White Spots With Red Scratches On Palate And Uvula
I have a little low number of white spots with red scratches on my soft palate and uvula. I dont have pain. I have this last 3 months. I consulted with general doctor and ENT specialist. They gave me anti biotics. But still it appear. But i dont have any sigle pain by this.
Thanks for your query. The symptoms you describe in query is indicating condition known as oral thrush .Normally fungus called candida live in mouth but do not cause problem. When immune system or person is weak ,bacteria of oral cavity killed by antibiotics or due to some underlying disease like diabetes ,fungus will grow and cause oral thrush .
I would suggest you to consult dentist/oral pathologist for proper examination and to rule out more serious condition like leukoplakia to treat it properly .Doctor may prescribe you anti fungal drugs like cotrimazole and ketoconazole orally/topical.
For now avoid alcohol and smoking ,do warm saline rinses and eat food easy to digest like ice cream.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
