Suggest Treatment For Wheezing And Inflamed Tonsil In A Child
My son is 5 1/2 yrs old, know to have wheezing attacks. Since cople of days he is been coughing and breathing slightly ddisturbed. His left side tonsil has inflamation. I have been giving ambrilite levo twice daily ? Will it improve ? Pls suggest. thank u.
Hi, If you have noticed an unusual and asymmetric enlargement of tonsils, then it could probably be an infection which needs antibiotics. Ambrilite is indicated for productive cough and levo will bring down the secretions(like sputum) and will improve his breathing. But the infection if present will not be eradicated. So I suggest you to meet a local doctor who would examine the throat and suggest an antibiotic like Amox or Augmentin if needed. In case the breathing difficulty worsens, please do not hesitate to take him to the ER.
Regards DR. Jeffrey
