Suggest Treatment For Vomiting And Headache In A 13 Year Old Girl

My 13yr old daughter hit her head two days ago - she was on a friend s zip line and fell to the ground and hit her head. Today she threw up at school and had a headache and said her eye hurt. I took her home at 11a and she slept for 2 1/2 hrs. She seems ok now, but I m wondering if she may have a mild concussion? what are other signs I should look for? or should I take her to the doctor tomorrow?

We understand your concern.

Headache and vomiting following a fall is a warning sign. She would need detailed evaluation to rule out concussion, hemorrhage etc.Other warning signs would be loss of consciousness, developing blurred vision, developing neurological deficits, convulsions. In such case your daughter will need immediate assessment.

Doctor might ask for a CT brain following neurological examination.Kindly go through it to be sure of diagnosis.

Hope the answer has helped you.
