Suggest Treatment For Vomiting And Bloated Abdomen

I have been sick for 2 -3 weeks with vomiting, bloating stomach... I ended up in the hospital. They said my potassium levels were very low and I have an enlarged liver and fatty liver. But they tests the Hep. AB and C and they came back neg. Gall bladder is fine, pancreas is fine. I am taking replacement tablets for potassium and have a history of heart disease strongly on both sides of my parents. Any ideas? I am finally not feeling so dizzy and out of body feeling... But I still feel bloated and feels like a lump in my throat. Blood pressure as of 5 mins ago was 134/79 pulse 100. Last potassium check done on Monday was 3.4

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are feeling bloated and have an enlarged liver. You also have a sensation of a lump in the throat. The first line of treatment is usually weight loss through a combination of a healthy diet and exercise. Losing weight if obese. Add fiber to your diet. Fiber will help better bowel motion and hence no constipation. Constipation causes acid reflux and gastritis.

Take laxatives if required. Stay well hydrated with water and fluids so that your sodium-potassium level is normal. Control your blood sugar levels at all cost. Take antacids and PPIs to control bloating of abdomen. It will also help in triggering hunger and helping in digestion. Since liver is enlarged avoid taking fried food, spicy food, oily food, processed food, trans fat, refined flour, full fat dairy products, etc.

Take boiled food, lean meat, well cooked cereals, veggies, fruits, berries and all that is cooked. Avoid taking anything that is raw. You can take food cooked in a little olive oil. Take liver tonics and food that is good for the liver. Quit smoking, drugs, alcohol, etc. Get clinically examined by a GP, get all required tests and investigations done so that you are treated as early as possible.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
