General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,.

As the hospitalised course is over, intravenous therapy is completed. Residual diarrhea seems to be part of convalescence phase of the viral infection. Guidelines for better recovery:
- Anti-emetic medication as Ondancetron syrup with sips of water on empty stomach
- More amount of liquids including boiled water, oral rehydration salt at intervals
- Soft diet which is easily digestible with avoidance of dairy fat, junk food if involved
- Thorough chewing of food
- Oral and hand hygiene
- Baby must avoid keeping any toys like stuffs in her mouth
- Continue GI specific antibiotics as prescribed like Metronidazole or others
- Supportive role of lacto bacillus sachets and zinc syrup must be discussed with her treating pediatrician

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
