Suggest Treatment For Viral Fever And Cough

Hello doc.. My son is 3 yrs old.. he s down with fever since yesterday. I have given him Meftal p thrice yesterday. It seems to b viral fever since he is feverish after every 3-4 hrs. He is also having a running nose and cough due to which he is facing problem to breathe properly and is irritated. I gave also given him cheston cold for running nose. Non improvement till now. Should I continue with d same medicines? Or plz suggest something else

hello, thanks for post, your son has indeed symptoms to think in a viral cause,in this age are common high respiratory diseases, can appear nasal obstruction which causes breath troubles, for this are necessary decongestionant measures, but something important that there are to discard is laryngitis that is common in babies too, if your baby have breathing problems better is to seean professional to determine if it is necessary an cycle of antibiotics or do another exams, meanwhile you are doing right don´t allowing to increase temperature, also must do nasal aspirations, and hydrate a lot.
