VACTERL association (also VATER syndrome) refers to the non-random co-occurrence of birth defects Vertebral anomalies, Anal atresia, Cardiac defects, Tracheoesophageal fistula and/or Esophageal atresia, Renal & Radial anomalies and Limb defects and is a known genetic entity. Since it is genetic, it cannot be cured. Treatment is symptomatic and depends on the manifestations. Just remain in follow up of a doctor and he will guide you how to take care of the problems as and when they occur. Nothing more is there to be said and done.
