Suggest Treatment For Urinary Tract Infection

I went to my GYN today for a urinary tract infection, I picked up my two scripts but forgot to get some uristat over the counter to releive the pain, I have some that say they are expired do they realy expire or is it okay to take them to relieve the burning? The date is 2/2014

* It is never recommended to take any expired medicine for any purpose.
* Additional guidelines for better recovery from UTI

-Drink more liquids.
-Cranberry sachet once daily in a glass of drinking water.
-Antibiotics as per advise of your OBGY.
-Add intake of fresh yogurt in diet for probiotic support.
