Suggest Treatment For Urinary Incontinence While Having Multiple Sclerosis

Hi, I have MS, and am struggling with incontinence issues. I tried Myrbetriq, which did not work at all. Now, I am taking Detrol and it helps. Still, I have urgency very frequently, and I can only sleep about 5 hours at night, before the bladder calls. I also experience intense sharp pain at the urethra, mostly in the morning. Do you think Botox would be a good option?

Hello,

When full bladder sends the signals to the brain then gives signals to bladder depending upon the bladder urine levels.

In the case of MS it creates the scars in myelin tissue lead to not able to send signals.

So it may lead to urine overflow incontinence. In spinal cord involvement is there means develop over active bladder. Also chance's to develop UTI. So use antibiotics to prevent infection, self-catheterization is useful to avoid urine. Bladder relaxant like darifenacin, tolterodine is useful.

Please consult the neuro physician he may advise and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
