Suggest Treatment For Typhoid And Depreciating Platelets

Hi Pavan

My son is currently suffering with typhoid and his blood report says typhi O is 1:320, typhi H is 1:160.

His is platelet count is been decreasing from Wednesday 2nd Dec 2015 from 150,000 to 100000 current.

His WBC is around 3200

What needs to be done, his fever is under control

He has cough and was not able to eat much.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Yes your son should be suffering from typhoid as typhoid antibodies are positive in such high dilution. There is reduction of WBCs also. These all tests suggest typhoid. However reduction of platelets from 150,000 to 100000 is not much alarming.
Take your son to a hospital, strong Antibiotics would be given such as Augmentin or 3rd generation cefalosporins. Injectional antibiotics such as Ceftriaxone may be given. Regular monitoring of platelet level is also to be done.
Don't ignore this problem as long lasting typhoid can cause intestinal perforation & other serious complications.
