Suggest Treatment For Trigger Finger

I am a woman, 80 years old, living in Vancouver. I am still active and agile and never had aches and pains until 6 months ago, I had trigger finger on my right hand, the ring finger. My family doctor didn t think much of it, saying when he uses the pressure pump to measure the blood pressure often, he too has trigger fingers. I also find my left hand gets numb often, and then my left hand also start having trigger finger. The last two months, I have pain on both my wrists, and both my hands get swollen, I cannot close my fist, especially in the morning. Now I take one Aleve before I go to sleep, so I feel better in the morning. Should I keep on taking Aleve? Will my pain and swelling go away in time?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You can continue aleve. However surgical correction will be the best treatment option. Consult an orthopedic and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
