Trichomonas wont go away Hi doctor. So I got trichomonas about 5 years ago from my husband when we first got together. we have tried many repeated sessions of flagly and it wont go away.we are also concerned because we want to have a baby and wont get pregnant. sense i have had trich for so long will i be able to ever get pregnant. also is there any other medicine that will get rid of trich for good!?? thank you for your help!!
Hi. Since repeated doses of flagyl have not cured Trichomoniasis please consult Infectious disease specialist. The doctor will treat both of you with single dose of Tinidazole. If you are not cured with it, you both will need repeated doses of Tinidazole. If still not cured treatment based on trichomonas susceptibility testing is given. Untill you both are cured you should not have intercourse.
Sometimes Trichomonas can cause infection in the pelvis and tubes leading to infertility. Once you are cured of infection get checked by Gynecologist for this. I hope I have answered to your satisfaction.
