My husband was diagnosed w Parkinson s disease in 2014. Has had an extremely unnoticeable rare tremor of his hand. Friday 0500 woke up to bed shaking, discovered it was his rt arm/hand SHAKING. Later in day both arms/hands shaking with twitching of left side of face- extremely strong shaking. Saturday greatly improved not jerking, extreme shaking, but still shaking Tonight he was unable to feed himself the shakes/tremors are so bad were so bad. This is the 1st time it s happened. The Neurlolgits office is closed on Fridays. Do you have any input/suggestion? I m one very worried/concerned wife. Thank you, Dawn.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your husband symptoms could be related to tardive diskinezia, which is an adverse effect of levodopa therapy. For this reason, I recommend consulting with his neurologist for a physical exam and make the proper changes to his therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
