Hi dear , As per your query you have tonsillitis and sore throat . Well you have already completed the antibiotic ( amoxicillin) course and It didn t help you . I seems to me that the sore throat and tonsillitis is not due to bacterial infection it is probably occur due to viral infection that is why antibiotics are not helping . Usually viral infection goes away in few days without any treatment . bUt if its not going away and tonsillitis is also there it means the infection is severe. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order certain tests like throat swab test and viral culture test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out condition like pharyngitis and acid reflux . Doctor may prescribe antiviral medicine like acyclovir along with anti inflammatory . For now doe warm saline galgles and also do betadine gargles .
