Suggest Treatment For Tonsillitis In A 2 Year Old

Hi my 2 year old daughter has had prolonged inflamed tonsils in which the pediatrician was not concerned about, stating she would grow into them, however her epiglottis is visible and the lymph nodes behind her ears have been swollen for a few months. Can this all be related to each other?

Hi, here are your concerns.
1. About your kid's tonsils, if your paediatrician isn't worried you can most likely rest assured. If you are too concerned or if the child isn't taking feeds properly or seems too toxic or less active then take a second opinion or visit an ENT specialist.
2. Epiglottis visible could be normal for your child and maybe there since birth. If symptomatic do show an ENT.
3. Lymph nodes can get enlarged for any infections. Since it is a prolonged tonsillitis it just could be that.
