Suggest Treatment For Tiredness And Weight Gain

I am 54 years old, and I am in menopause. I am extremely tired and gaining weight quickly. My stomach is bloated and hard. My breasts are almost swollen, like when you become pregnant. I am miserable! I am starting a new job next week, but I do not have insurance right now. I just need some relief.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are in the menopausal phase. Since you are bloated & uncomfortable, you need to lose weight & avoid oily junk food. Cut on the high protein, red meat, cheese, paneer.

Take more vegetables, berries, fruits & green leafy vegetables. Take food rich in calcium.

Avoid constipation, stay well hydrated. Take laxatives before bed time. Cut on alcohol, smoking, caffeine & addictions if any. Take vitamin supplements & vitamin E. You are suggested to visit your gynae, you may need HRT.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
