Suggest Treatment For Tiredness And Lack Of Energy

I ve had quite a problem with tiredness and lack of energy for quite some time. I have had blood tests run and nothing irregular shows up. I have a few aches and pains but nothing of significance but I am tired of being tired and no energy. I am taking a trip with friends next month and I feel like I should back out because of the tiredness and lack of energy. I need suggestions as to what type of specialist I can start with. Are there any particular blood tests I should ask for? Help!!

Hello,
There is not really a specialist that focuses on fatigue. You need to work with your primary care doctor and find a cause before you see a specialist. The most common causes are anemia and hypothyroidism but there are many other possible causes. Also look at your diet and exercise. Exercise daily is important for health and energy even if it is only walking 30 minutes daily. Diets with high carbohydrates especially sugars, sodas and starches can make you very tired also. Try eating only fresh fruits and vegetables and lean meats and don't drink anything but water. Take a multivitamin daily
Good luck,
Dr. Robinson
