Suggest Treatment For Tiny White Bumps On The Anus

My 10 year old son has tiny white bumps (all uniform in size of a small pimple) by his anus. He has not gone through puberty yet so I am not worried about a sexually transmitted disease. It is sore when he wipes his bum after a bowl movement. Any ideas on what it is and how to treat it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your son seem to be related to parasites.

I recommend doing a stool test to confirm the cause.

If the diagnosis is confirmed I suggest using Albendazole as treatment.

It is a prescribed medication, so you should consult your doctor before the treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
