Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation In Tongue And Throat

I have been having a tingly tongue for days. The tip is reddish in color. My throat even feels mildly tingly...cool sensation. The tingling is mild in the morning and it progressively gets more tingly throughout the day. I do have a history of anxiety and have been taking just half of a Xanax, but it is not helping. I ve recently had my heart thoroughly checked, bloodwork completed too. I have low Vitamin D and am on a prescription strength dose for another few weeks. I went to my doctor and he said just watch what I am eating. I am not eating anything different though. I am concerned because it has not gone away. Thank you.

Hi. The tingling or paresthesia in your tongue is a common sign of calcium and/or vitamin D deficiency. It is also associated with Vitamin B (1-12) deficiency. The reddish tip of your tongue suggests deficiency of Vitamin B 1,2 and 12. Adding capsule Becosules-Z (B-Complex with Vitamin C) to your treatment will help speed your recovery.

If your doctor has ruled out calcium deficiency then there is nothing much to worry about. Tingling due to Vitamin D and B usually take 3-6 weeks or more for complete recovery. I would therefore recommend that you continue to follow up with your doctor and give the recovery its natural course of time.

It is also worth noting that anxiety itself on many occasions can lead to tingling sensation of the tongue and throat. Xanax has been known to cause tingling sensation in the tongue in some patients too. So do expect an occasional return of tingling episodes once in a while even though the tingling may disappear in between. Apart for the discomfort related to tingling, it does not pose any serious dangerous consequences.
