Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation In The Lips Along With Itching

Last night my right eye area started to itch, I rubbed it and it s now slightly swollen. About 2 hours ago while driving home, the area around my upper lip started tingling and got a little itchy, I of course rubbed at it... by the time I was home I was swollen all around my mouth - I look like I ve had too much dermatological work done - all the wrinkles are gone! I took Benedryl about 1.5 hours ago with no notable difference but it didn t get worse either. I have no rash and have not noticed a bite .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to allergic reaction from some thing you have exposed or eaten. Taking antihistamines like cetrizine ( zyrtec ) once daily for 5 days is good. You can also apply corticosteroids like hydrocortisone cream locally. If there is no improvement then a short course of oral corticosteroids might be required.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
