Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation In Right Thigh

I have tingling in my right thigh. It has been going on for almost a year when I stand for long periods of time. It has always gone away after I am able to sit. This past Saturday I stood for 2.5 hours in my daughter s wedding reception line. This same thigh started tingling, which then turned to burning and was very sharp tingling when I would move.. The burning went away awhile after I was able to sit down. The tingling was completely gone when I woke up. Now my thighs tingles after I have just been on my feet for a short time. Any ideas? I am 53 and about 120-130 lbs overweight. I have always blamed it on my weight.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms are of nerve pain that is being compressed that may be because of your weight or some spinal stenosis. You need to consult your neurologist as early as possible. Get your lumbar and sacral X-rays and also your nerve conduction studies.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
