Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Doc. I am 71 and have had a bypass 7 yr. ago and I am in good shape and a good golfer. I carry my bag and the first golf hole is on an incline and by the time I climb to the crest I am dealing with very tighten chest muscles. I took my prescribed nitroglycerin ( 1 pill) and it released the pressure almost instantly. IF I TOOK IT PRIOR TO THE WALK UP THAT INCLINE WOULD THAT PREVENT THE CHEST PAIN? The nitro pill is good for about an hour of golfing before the pain starts again. I am going for a stress with my heart team next week. Thanks Dan
You can take it just before climbing and it should prevent the angina. But you surely should see your cardiologist to be evaluated for your anginas; chest tightness. There may be a need for another angiography to evaluate coronary arteries (heart vessels)
Wishing you good health
