Hi, my husband was bitten by a tick over a month ago and he removed the insect entirely from his groin area. He just showed me that he has a painful rash on the inside of both thighs near the groin area. He thought it would go away on its own, so he just spread some ointment on it that he was prescribed for a skin condition he s been treating for over a year. It was ineffective. What test should he ask his doctor for to ensure a proper diagnosis?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It seems that probably you may be having lichen urticatus. It may be hypersensitivity to insects. Consult the dermatologist to get proper diagnosis and perfect treatment.
Hope this helps.
