Suggest Treatment For Thorn Prick Injury On Sole Of Foot

I stepped on a thorn and im pretty sure I got it all out. There was no bleeding but the next day there is a red circling shape around where the thorn punctured my skin. It has been itchy all day and a weird soreness feeling too. Should I wait a couple of days and then see a doctor?

Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

You could try applying an antibiotic cream containing 1% Fusidic acid or 2 % Mupirocin twice a day for 5 days.

If the soreness does not subside or if the symptoms increase in intensity, please consult a doctor to rule out an infection due to the remnants of the thorn remaining inside.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
