Suggest Treatment For Thick White Vaginal Discharge

Have had viginal discharge thick whitish cottage cheese like with no real smell. Was yellowish at times.treated with over counter thrush creams and tablets but reoccured. GP visit and smear checked for venereal deseases along with with baterial and thrush - inconclusive result but had used a anti vungal cream approx 5 days before test. 6 weeks of oral tablets for thrush but slightly better for a few days to week then back with discharge no improvement. Now discharge still has cottage cheese like grains but now smells and either yellow or slightly green with thinner liquid. Have had reocurring thrush many years ago. Had approx 6 months.

Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the thick white cottage cheese like discharge indicate recurrent candidial infection most likely with candida albicans.

My guidelines for the better recovery

- vaginal pH monitoring
- swab report for candida pseudo hyphae
- culture with Sabourad agar plate
- hydration with plenty of liquids
- vaginal douche with epsom salt and betadine solution
- avoid use of similar tampons over a period of time
- vaginal hygiene care
- avoidance of vaginal or anal sex till recovery if involved
- course of oral fluconazole, itroconazole or ketoconazole as per the clinician decision
- local application of anti fungal creams
- dietary support with balanced nutritious diet
- supportive care with multi vitamins, minerals and anti oxidant
- pre and pro biotics having lacto bacillus to support vaginal flora.
